The Black Cat Blue Sea Award

A few days ago while writing my latest blog entry, I found out I was nominated for “The Black Cat Blue Sea” Award from another blogger who was also nominated, (Katie from “What Katie did next”). I would like to thank you, Katie for such a Lovely Honor! “This award is for bloggers who strive to write for everybody, and no matter how many viewers they get, make an impact on a reader. This award is an expression of Gratitude to the nominee.” I am overjoyed & humbled, especially coming from Katie! Katie has a remarkable website that I enjoy reading! Check out her Website & see her answers to her questions at seewhatkatiedidnext.wordpress.com. The ones nominated are supposed to answer three questions that are given to them by the person who nominated them, and then in turn, nominate others, as well as pose their own 3 questions for them to answer.

Here are the three questions I was asked:

1. If you could swap lives with someone for a week, who would it be?

This was a Very difficult question as there are so many people I admire & would love to step into their shoes for a short time. On the one hand, I am perfectly content & happy in my own life. On the other hand, I could learn so much from someone else’s life. I came up with so many that I’d love to consider, but I’ll give you my very first answer. That would be Oprah Winfrey. She is a role model for all women. She believes in being Just & Fair. She is Multi-Talented, Exceptionally Bright & Generous. She supports most recently, Veganism & good health, a subject that is very near & dear to my heart. She supports education for children, especially for young under privileged women & rallies for them always. She has set up a school for them as well. In spite of her tough upbringing, she continues to help others, inspire many, and think & live positively. She also dabbles in acting & producing which I have always been interested in. There’s so much to say about her, but  I feel that I should maybe stop here. I will; however, say lastly, that she is the reason I became Vegan 21 years ago, because of an episode she did on her talk show! Thank you, Oprah, for Inspiring me & so many women!!

2. What is your favorite book, movie & CD?

Another tough question as, again, there are so many to choose from! But my constant is “Garden Spells” by Sarah Addison Allen. It’s Magical, Mystical & Hopeful, bringing the power of food & family into the book. I root for the main character Claire every time & never want the journey through the book to end!

My favorite movie: Again so many, but one I always choose when I need an escape from reality is “Pride & Prejudice” starring Keira Knightly & Matthew Macfayden! It’s Seriously Perfect in every way! Elizabeth & Mr. Darcy….Oh my heavens!! Too Wonderful for words! The Scenery is incredible & the multiple stories weaving together are fabulous! Mr. Bennett’s  love for his children just melts my heart!

I also Love “It’s Complicated” starring the Fabulous Meryl Streep for her character’s incredible home & business!! That is the business I would LOVE to own!! Her home in the movie also takes my breath away!

Favorite CD: Seriously any CD my children have made for me (there are many) where my daughter is singing & my son is playing guitar. They are so talented & for them to let me into their world by performing on a CD for me, in which I will forever be able to capture that moment in time, is truly precious & beautiful! I will treasure them always!

Close seconds are: Billie Holiday:The Silver Collection, Any Ella Fitzgerald CD, Nat King Cole: Unforgettable & for a different mood: Led Zeppelin IV.

3. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself with 2 cookbooks published. I also see myself & my family having tons of adventures & traveling, hopefully to the UK, especially to various parts of England & Ireland where my ancestors are from. I have many ancestors in Northern Italy as well, in which I have visited before, but would love to see Southern Italy too. New Zealand looks pretty inviting as well!!

What Wonderful questions! Thank you, Katie! Sorry the answers were so long! There were multiple answers to those questions & made me think a lot about the answers. I enjoyed them!

Here are my Nominees & my three questions for them.

My Nominees are:
