Hot “Cacao”

On this rainy day, still social- distancing ourselves indoors, I felt like a nice hot cup of hot cacao with my husband and son for our “tea time”. It was a delicious and warm, as well as comforting nectar to sip while watching the rain fall outside the kitchen windows. It’s also a bit cool today, so it fit the mood. I revel in developing recipes for my family when we’re all hanging out together! Hope you’re enjoying cooking or baking or creating during this time of reflection and rest. Wishing you all safe, healthy and fun times with your family or time to yourself. Enjoy this warm treat!

Ingredients:

3 Cups almond milk

1/2 Cup canned full fat coconut milk

3 tspns raw ceremonial- grade cacao (you can use 100% cocoa too, if you wish)

3 TBSPNS Carob chips

2 tspns Stevia

1 1/2 tspns Vanilla extract

Dash of Cinnamon

Directions:

In small dutch oven pan or large saucepan, heat all ingredients on medium/high heat, while whisking. Heat until it starts to lightly boil, not a rolling boil. Pour into mugs or heat safe cups and serve immediately.

*This is best served hot, but can be served iced as well.
